All of the above – and there’s more – is encompassed within a framework of loving our neighbour and loving our neighbour’s children (the future aspect of that loving) and also establishing “A Safe Place for our Children” within the family, the community and the nation. But it also means how do we prepare, how do we behave, how do we react and adjust when there is no longer a safe place.
Rebellion against God inevitably and crucially involves rebellion against his Creation which underpins so much of ethics and morality. It is foundational.
If we, as informed Christians, support politicians and educators whose firm commitment is sexual confusion by indoctrination of our children, then we too are guilty of allowing our little ones to be led into sin.
Jesus’ condemnation re leading children into sin is quite specific as is its judgment. Other evils that concern us do not merit the same specific judgment. May this truth be reflected in our thinking and our living.
And the battles of our time are very, very deep in their significance of warfare in Deep Heaven.
Firstly, by the outright rebellion against and direct attack on God’s Creation order of masculinity and femininity and the institution of marriage.
Secondly, by the attack – relatively new for our generation in our part of Western civilisation – directly on the church itself, the Body of Christ. To silence it, to divide it, to destroy our freedom to teach our children about our Christian faith.
What is our basis for this battle we are waging? Yes, it comes back to God’s Creation. Understanding this and understanding the attack is essential to our response.
Maybe it has been more obvious to others than it has been to me, but I have realised the Creation account underpins everything I am involved in ethically and morally. It is foundational to all I do and believe.
